Kenyatta University Exposure Visit

,The exposure visits provide a platform for the participants to be able to visit well known institutions and get an insight on the different career fields that they can venture into. In 2016, 300 pupils from Viwandani got a chance to visit the Kenyatta University Main Campus along Thika Road Nairobi. Being their first time to make this visit, they were accompanied by their mentors and the U-Tena staff. The main objective of the trip was to expose the participants to various career fields. Growing up, they will be in a position to know that there are other career fields that they can venture into aside from the traditional careers. The participants received a warm welcome and they managed to meet the director who gave the participants a brief history of the Campus. In addition, the participants were given a chance to visit the resource center of the campus (Post Modern Library) and got to learn more about how they should carry out their selves when in the Campus. The director, gave them a brief talk and encouraged them to work hard in school and ensure that they can achieve marks that can get them enrolled into good high schools and then later go to good universities.

The participants also got a chance to visit the Campanile towers at the campus. This visit was significant to the participants as some of them had not stepped out of their "Ghetto" environment. They were amazed with the fun of being driven in a privately hired buses on Thika superhighway as well as stepping on the prestigious University Ground.  Providing this opportunity for interaction with lecturers and university students was inspiring for the participants and motivated them to pursue their career paths with determination.
