World Education Fund visits U-Tena
Officials of World Education Fund visited U-Tena as from 14th to 18th August, 2019.
World Education fund (WEF) is non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunity for poor students in Kenya through Secondary School Scholarships. WEF believe education opportunity is the most effective way for individual to improve their own lives.
U-Tena is exploring possibilities of partnering with WEF to offer partial scholarships to needy high schools in Kenya. WEF supported U-Tena with computers, tablets and a camera that will support U-Tena education programming.
During the visit, the president of WEF Judy Severson and her colleague Alice Zheng visited the ministry of Education, different high schools in Nairobi County. WEF also got a chance to interview 82 students for high school scholarships and selected a number of them that might be supported as from 2020.
WEF also interacted with different families in the slums of Mukuru and Korogocho.
